For Flying Branch –
Minimum age: 20 years
Maximum age: 24 years
Candidate should be born after or on 02 Jan 1994 before or on 01 Jan 1998 (both days inclusive)
Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-technical) Branch –
Minimum age: 20 years
Maximum age: 26 years
Candidate should be born after or on 02 Jan 1992 before or on 01 Jan 1998 (both days inclusive)
Flying Branch – Graduate in any courses with minimum 60% aggregate Marks and have passed Maths & Physics at 10+2 standard or BE/ B.Tech degree (Four year Program)
Ground Duty (Technical) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics/Mechanical) –
Passed 10+2 level with minimum 60% Marks along with Physics & Mathematics and 04 years Degree Graduation/ Integrated Post-Graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology
Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branch
Administration and Logistics – Graduate Degree in any course with minimum 60% Marks or equivalent qualification
Accounts – B.Com Degree with minimum 60% Marks or its equivalent qualification

Syllabus and Exam Pattern
Written Exam Syllabus for AFCAT-1 st 2017
(1). General Awareness:- History, Environment, Basic Science, Art, Defense, Geography, Sports, Civics, Culture, Politics and Current Affairs.
(2). Verbal Ability in General English:- Error Detection, Synonyms, Sentence Completion, Antonyms ,Comprehension and Testing of Vocabulary.
(3). Numerical Ability: – Simplification, Percentage, Profit anf Loss, Decimal Fraction, Average, Simple Interest and Ration & Proportion.
(4). Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test:- Spatial Ability and Verbal Skills.
- After the application submission process applicants will be called for Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) on 26 February, 2017 at one of the examination centres.
- Candidates selected on the basis of AFCAT/EKT will be called for State-1, Stage-2 & Flying Branch tests at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar, Varanasi or Kancharapara. Test will be conducted at AFCME, New Delhi or IAM Bengaluru.
- Candidates who qualify in all stage will be selected by the final merit list which is depending upon available vacancies for training under above branches.
