UPSC CAPF AC 2018


Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF)  AC (Assistant Commandants) exam 2018 is going to be organizing by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruiting aspirants as Assistant Commandants(AC)  (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) such as Border Security Force (BSF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) , Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2018 Official notification is expected to be release on 12th April, 2018 and exam will be conducted on 23rd July, 2018. The date will be provided to you after relies of its respective notification.

CAPF AC Exam 2018 Eligibility Criteria


  Apply for this exam applicants must be an Indian citizen.

Male or Female applicants are eligible to apply but female applicants will not be appointed in

Minimum educational qualification need to apply for this exam is Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Age limit of Applicants should be in between 20 – 25 years as on 1st August, 2018.

Applicants are capable to apply for CAPF AC Exam 2018 through online mode from the official web portal i.e. e www.upsconline.nic.in . Application form will be available from March, 2018 onwards. Paying the important amount of application fee is also a very important part of application procedure. UPSC has specified the application fee for CAPF AC exam 2018 as Rs. 200/-. Applicants belonging to SC/ST / female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

Part I: Written Exam Pattern

Written exam will be dived into two papers i.e. Paper I & Paper II.

Paper 1st will be of General Ability and Intelligence consisting maximum 250 marks.

All questions of paper 1st will be objective type and set both in English as well as Hindi language.

Paper 2nd will be of General Studies, Essay and Comprehension consisting maximum 200 marks.

Part II: Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests

Applicants those have qualified in part I exam will be called for further process like Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.

Part III: Personal Interview/Personality Test

Applicants who have qualified in the part I and II, they will be further invited to attend the personal Interview/Personality Test. Total No. of marks for Interview/Personality Test will be 150.

SSC SI CAPF Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2017

SSC SI CAPF EXAM PATTERN & SYLLABUS 2017: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will organize the SI CAPF Paper-1 Exam in month of March 2017. Applicants who are appearing in SSC SI CAPF 2017 exam must know the syllabus & exam pattern, marking scheme to perform well in the exam.  The candidate good performance in Paper-1, Applicants will be short-listed for the Physical Endurance Test (PET)/PST than next Medical test. And only those applicants who clear the PET (Physical Endurance Test) / PST and medical test will be eligible for paper-2.

SSC SI CAPF selection process divided into 3 steps:

1st Step: Paper-1 is Written Test (Objective Type) (200 Marks)

2nd Step: PET (Physical Endurance Test), PST and Medical Test

3rd Step: Paper-2 is Written Test (Objective Type) (200 Marks)

SSC SI CAPF Exam Pattern 2017 Paper-1

Paper-1 contains 4 parts known as (A)-General Intelligence and Reasoning, (B)-General Knowledge and General Awareness, (C) – Quantitative Aptitude, (D) English Comprehension.

Every part carries 50 questions and maximum 50 marks; duration of the test is 2 hours.

Marking scheme in paper-1 negative marking of 0.25 marks will be for each incorrect answer but there is no negative marking scheme for unanswered questions.

Paper-1 is objective type, Medium in Hindi for part A, B & C.

Physical Endurance Test / PET (For all vacant)

PET is for all posts. This test is just qualifying in body nature and it will not carry any extra marks, but still it is necessary to pass for further process:

Medical Test (For all vacant)

Eye Sight: The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes.

Applicants should not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess good high color vision.

Applicants must be in better mental condition and fit from any physical defect.

Paper-2 is about English language & Comprehension.

Paper-2 consist 200 questions and maximum 200 marks; duration of the exam is 2 hours.

Paper-2 will be objective type and paper will be set in English only.

SSC SI CAPF Exam Syllabus 2017 Paper-1

Part A – General Intelligence & Reasoning: (consists 50 Questions)

It would contain questions of verbal and non- verbal type. This topic may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, problem solving, analysis, judgement, space visualization, spatial orientation,  decision making, visual memory, discrimination, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, observation, relationship concepts, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Semantic Classification, and Symbolic/Number 9 Classification, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy,  Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, , Number Series, Figural Series,  Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern-folding & un-folding, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Figural Pattern- folding and completion Date & city matching Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, ,Indexing Address matching, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Emotional Intelligence, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking,  Social Intelligence.

Part B – General Awareness: (consists 50 Questions)

Questions in this topics will be aimed at testing the applicants’ general awareness of the environment around him and its application to social society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of currents affairs and of such matters of every day new observations and experience in their scientific aspect perception as may be expected of any educated person. The part B will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History,General Polity, Indian Constitution, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, scientific Research etc.

Part C – Quantitative Aptitude: (consists 50 Questions)

In this part the questions will be designed to check the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the applicants. The scope of this test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, fractions and relationships between numbers,  Square roots, Averages, Partnership Business, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount,  Mixture and Allegation,  Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Time and distance, Time & work Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, Congruence and similarity of triangles, common tangents to two or more circles, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons,  Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures,  Heights and Distances, Bar diagram & Pie chart, Histogram, Frequency polygon.

English Language & Comprehension: (200 Questions)

Questions in this topics will be designed to test the Applicants understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, filling in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary,  Sentence Completion, Phrases and comprehension, Idiomatic use of Words,  etc.
